Shear connectors also named shear studs, concrete anchors, are typically used in composite steel construction to tie the concrete to steel members and resist shear forces between the concrete slab and steel members. They are widely used in steel building, bridges, etc. Welding Through Metal Deck are available for this stud, for this option, special ceramic ferrule type UF are recommended.
The Working principle when the beam and the plate are bent under the vertical load, the shearing force (horizontal direction) of the axial surface is the largest, and the overlapping surface of the laminated beam and the plate member is located there (or close to the vicinity), and many are arranged. The shearing nail is used to resist the shearing force to ensure the normal bending resistance of the beam and the plate.

Composite Construction
Building
Steel beam and reinforced concrete slab joined by AR shear connector give action as a beam structures produce load bearing efficiently that combined strength of steel and concrete slab. It allow longer span with thinner and lighter floor, which provide great cost saving in entire construction expenses. AR shear connectors can be welded throughmetal decks, which secure the decks to the beam and also the beam to reinforced concrete slab with the studs producing all three structural members act as a strong unit.
Embedment
Concrete Shear connector studs and other various studs can be welded to steel plate, steel angle, channel steel and other large steel weld ments to serve as for joining steel liners to concrete surroundings
Bridge
Modern bridge to be built requires strong structural strength bearing load from heavy traffic passings. Shear connector serves for such bridge enable to make it more strong and economically. The structure of compositebeam widely used for building bridge consists of steel beam nd reinforced concrete slab joined by AR shear connector, so that the steel and concrete act as a unit to bear the bending stress.
If the same load is to be born, the composite beam allows smaller sectional area, the composite bem bears heavier load than non-composite beam.
